23-Inches for Maximum Efficiency: The new Gen8 Roll-to-Stack Solution from Hunkeler
Hunkeler is expanding its proven Gen8 Roll-to-stack finishing solution from 22.5-inch to 23-inch webs. The new high-performance system is designed for maximum productivity and future-proof performance. It delivers significant savings in paper consumption, production time, and overall costs.
Hunkeler is responding to the requirements of its customers and printing partners and creating decisive advantages, particularly for the North American market: The 23-inch format enables letter format processing in 2-up landscape format directly on the web.
Maximum performance and flexibility
The updated solution combines the Unwinder UW8, Cutter CS8, Separator SE8, and Stacker LS8 and processes continuous web widths of 23-inches at speeds of up to 590 ft/min. Thanks to the DynaCut function, production with variable formats is also possible during operation, allowing flexible implementation of cutting length changes up to 762 mm (30″ / B2 format).
Proven Gen8 technology
Based on proven Generation 8 technology, the system is equipped for potentially increasing print speeds. It ensures reliable processing of demanding full-color applications on coated and uncoated papers – from lightweight to heavyweight stocks. All modules of the Roll-to-stack solution have been revised and cover almost every requirement. The Web Merger WM8 has been expanded specifically for the transaction sector, while the Web Folder WF8 has also been adapted for the production of direct mailings.
